Morning Muffins.

You know what Saturday morning means? Yep, time for a new Sketch from Jo over at Sketch Saturday. I'm showing you the sketch first this week, because I really struggled with it. Maybe because I wanted to do something different, perhaps I should've followed it more closely. Anyway, it did have me scratching my head for a while! I'm sure you'll do a much better job with it than me, and if you do, you'll be in with a chance of winning stash from Simon Says Stamp.

I'm sure you'll be pleased to hear I've not damaged myself over at the new house this week. But that maybe because, annoyingly, I've not managed to do much there, despite being backwards and forwards several time each day. I'm itching to get hold of the roller again. And more good news, I've very nearly got rid of the pesky cough and my little toe only hurts if I whack it now, so no need to see The Doctor. Result!

Hey there!

I'm back again to show you Spunky Sprite, another of the new Fairie images from Some Odd Girl. There are four altogether and it's virtually impossible to pick just one favourite. I've been pushing myself recently to use colours I don't normally use, put together or even try and I'm vaguely happy with this one! ;)

Boo

Morning Muffins!

So. A few weeks ago, some of you noticed my reference to 'The Cat' and e-mailed to say you didn't know we have a cat. Well, we don't. But we do appear to have a cat living with us. This is Boo. (Trying to help me take a photo of a card, actually.)

Sometimes, Sweet Cheeks has a little snooze in the car and if I think he needs it, I'll leave him in the car, go inside for a magazine to read while I sit on the doorstep, until he wakes, or I wake him up.

One afternoon, a few weeks back, whilst reading a magazine on the doorstep, I heard a rather pitiful little miaow, and, Boo appeared. He came over and said hello, before going to have a look inside. There are quite a lot of cats in our neighbourhood, and it's not unusual for them to wander in, if we have a door open. And being a cat girl, I don't really mind.

Seven hours later, Boo was still inside! Even though it was raining, that night, and quite a few nights after, I put him out the front door when we went to bed. Only to find him, waiting desperately by the back door, in the morning, having been, very obviously, out all night.

So, we bought him some cat food, (well, you can't feed them honey roast ham and milk forever!) and we keep letting him out and he keeps coming back. Sweet Cheeks is delighted, Very Understanding Hubby likes that I am now completely outnumbered by boys and I have someone to keep my feet warm at night!

Before I hop off, I just want to thank you all for your lovely comments. Things are so hectic right now. The day is full of work at the new house and when the boys are safely tucked in bed, I'm in The Bat Cave, either making something or writing about making something. It's really nice to sit down for a few minutes and read all your comments, somewhere between phew, finished and starting next job! I'm sorry if I'm not stopping by so much at the moment, but I am trying to get round at least once a week. Sometimes the jelly bean juice just runs out too soon...

Hello Fluffers.

This is Brella Fairy and is one of the new releases available this week, from Some Odd Girl. Isn't she just gorgeous? So gorgeous, I just wanted to give her a clean space to be scrummy in! I wish I hadn't put the glossy accents on the leaf there now, but, hey-ho, I know for next time!

You'll be happy to hear, I was over at the new house for most of the day yesterday, and I didn't have any mishaps. Oh, and I found the key I dropped in a ten litre pot of paint. There was no WAY, I was going in after that one.

Morning Peeps!

It's another flying visit from me today folks. But don't worry about me, you can be sure I'm getting into some kind of Fluffie mischief. And I promise, I'll tell you about the cat, this week!

Morning Custard Lovers!

No card from me today. Instead, I thought I'd tell you what I've been up to over at the new house this week...

So, you know about Flying Fluffie and Garden Shear Incident. Oh and the Fume-ungous Fun I had in the Conservatory. Well, I'm happy to report, I no longer have Anger Management Issues. Watch out Kirsty Allsopp, Fluffie is in the building. Knocking down walls is excellent therapy and saves on heating bills.

However, I must finally accept that there are significant differences between what happens in FayeWorld (AKA in my 'ed) and what happens on Planet Earth. Let me explain.

Here's what would happen in Fayeworld:
After knocking a hole in the previously mentioned wall, I would place a number of strategic whacks around the edge of the wall. I would approach the wall at speed, kicking it Kung Fu styley and the remaining wall would toppled over.

Here's what happened on Planet Earth:
After knocking a hole in the previously mentioned wall, I placed a number of strategic whacks around the edge of the wall. I approached the wall at speed, kicking it Kung Fu styley. My foot went through the wall, stopping at my knee. I then had to hop around for several minutes extracting previously mentioned foot (luckily not broken one). FYI - The remaining wall did not topple over.

Here's what would happen in FayeWorld.
I would load the skip (OCD style, AKA very neatly) with various household rubble, including the mahoosive skirting board including several six inch nails. Because the previously mentioned naily skirting board was too large for the skip, I would break it easily in half by placing my foot in the centre of the skirting board and pulling. Job done.

Here's what happened on Planet Earth:
I loaded the skip (OCD style, AKA very neatly) with various household rubble. Next up, the mahoosive skirting board including several six inch nails. Because the previously mentioned naily skirting board was too large for the skip, I placed my foot in the centre of the skirting board and pulled to snap it in half. My hand slipped and one of the previously mentioned six inch nails, went into the fleshy part of my thumb, palm side, effectively crucifying me. The words that subsequently came out of my mouth, did possibly have a religious connotation.

I can't wait until The Doc lends me the chainsaw to chop down the tree in the front garden...

Morning Custard Lovers!

If you're looking for my Cupcake post, it's under this one, and worth a sneak, because I cut in a straight line! Whoop, whoop.

So, Sweet Cheeks and I have been busy over at the new house this weekend. One of the first things I've wanted to do, is de-stink the conservatory/ dining room, (Darrrrrrlings!) which had a distinct Aroma De Chien! Sorry dog lovers, but it was a bit whiffy.

Anyhoo, the house is disconnected from the water mains at the moment, but undeterred, I armed myself with a mahoosive (litre) bottle of thick bleach, a scrubbing brush, and work commenced. After a few minutes of frantic scrubbing (and realising it was gonna take quite a while, due to the no water thing) I decided it would be best to occupy Sweet Cheeks with some cars in the main part of the house, as I was worried about him and the fumes, and then I shut myself in. Sometimes I forget I'm not invincible.

As you know, I've had a pesky cough, for so long, I can't actually remember how long I've had it, and violent spluttering attacks are triggered by things like a change in temperature, talking too much, sweet and sour vegetables and the colour orange.

About one third of the way into the conservatory, I had one of these attacks, so, popped a medicated cough sweet, kept in my pocket for such occasions. The little sweetie didn't really help, but as I was on a mission, I kept going, stopping every few minutes, because I needed to cough. I really couldn't understand why the sweet wasn't helping. But I was determined to finish what I had started. Not long after, my eyes started streaming. A lot of minutes later, I eventually finished the whole room, and fell into the garden, wretching. When I finally managed to catch my breath, I suddenly realised why I had been coughing so much, and, that I am, not, invincible. I'm telling you, things won't be boring with me around.

We've also been doing a spot of gardening. Jane, if you're reading this, brace yourself. Mummy and Daddy, if you're reading this, I made this bit up. I needed to remove a dead evergreen bush and didn't really have the right tools for the job. But having decided I was going to do it, I had to do it. Another day is not an option. Making it up as I go along, is. I had a pair of garden shears handy, so decided to cut through the trunk. Nope, not happening. So I squeezed them as tight as I could and kept whacking them. Nope, not happening. So. I squeezed them as tight as I could and then jumped on them. Result! Well, actually, three. First, the dead tree went flying, with me not too far behind. Second, Sweet Cheeks falling around laughing because Mummy fell in the mud. Three, I remembered my foot is still broken.

Don't try this at home kids...

Morning Muffins!

Well, you know what Monday morning means, doncha? Yup, time for a scrummy Cupcake and this week, Yours Truly had the brilliant idea of choosing Recycle! You'll need to use something you've recylced from something else, on your creation, for a chance to win stasharoony from Bugaboo Stamps and Creations by AR. And you really need to see the fab things The Cupcakes have made too.

Now, you know I hate, measuring and cutting stuff, for projects that aren't cards, because I never end up with a box. No matter how hard I try, I end up with a wonky box. Every. Single. Time. So, I am super happy with how this project turned out. I saw something similar in a magazine last year and I put it on my to-do list... Ahem!

So what did I recycle? Well, yep, I cut up the smiley face biscuit box to make this. But there's more. Did you notice those little bits of paper?

Every time I line a card (sorry folks, I'm boring and don't decorate the inside too, I just line it with white paper.) I get a little off cut, which I keep for writing important information on. Like, what day it is, sketch ideas, what time I need to collect Sweet Cheeks from Nursery, that kind of thing. I have a mahoosive pile of them on my desk, and every time Very Understanding Hubby closes the curtains in The Bat Cave, they swoosh all over the floor. Well. They don't anymore. Now, I cut them in half and put them in this. If I wasn't so Fluffie, I'd be a genius!

Morning Peeps!

I know you don't normally see me on a Sunday morning, but La La Land Crafts asked me to Guest Design a while back, and although the timing is not perfect, I couldn't say no. I love La La images, you know, I love La La images! Marci with Tulip here, is one of the new CHA Releases. She's available to pre-order right now, shipping on or around 10 February.

Why is the timing not perfect? Good question. You may have noticed me making the odd comment or seven about Estate Agents/ Solicitors giving me a nervous tic. (That wasn't really fair, as they were only the messengers, but I needed to vent at somebody, and they get paid!) Anyhoo, to put it in the words of Legal Type Bods, on Friday, we Completed. Yep, sold and bought a house. Insert whoop, whoop type noises here.

Ok, so now you've calmed down, let me tell you the next bit.

The house we've bought is in a bit of a state and needs considerable renovation before I will even consider moving my Princess Like Fluffiness into it. Even the lure of an All New Flufferie (yep, a whole room dedicated to stash. Do you think extra Copics might count as new?!) has not been enough. Mainly because it's not The Flufferie yet and is still a teenage boys bedroom, complete with appropriate graffiti.

So, over the next few weeks, every spare moment will be dedicated to crafting, oops, I mean gutting/re-fitting/decorating. But you don't need to worry, if my adventures this afternoon are anything to go by, I'm gonna have plenty of mishaps to rant about...

Morning Peeps!

Milk. Let me tell you about milk. Sweet Cheeks and I do a weekly food shop every weekend, including two pints of milk. I only buy two pints of milk for a couple of reasons.

First, when we do the food shop, you can be sure that whatever fruit I buy a small amount of, will be the fruit item that Sweet Cheeks decides he will eat a lot of, that week. About thirty three minutes after I've unloaded the shopping, we've generally run out of the small amount of fruit, and Very Understanding Hubby will spend the rest of the week, eating the fruit item we have alot of. (Eat fruit? Me? Eeeeuw! Only if it has three kilos of sugar and several illegal 'E' numbers included in it!)

And because I'm a delicate flower, I only need to look at milk that's even thinking about going off, to get sick. So, if I buy two pints of milk, it means I can buy another two pints of milk a day or so later, along with more fruit. Simples.

A few weeks ago, the supermarket ran out of two pints of milk, so Sweet Cheeks and I had to buy four pints. Because of the delicate flower issue, I decided if it went off, I'd give it to Very Understanding Hubby in his tea. Sorted. Four pints of milk seemed to work quite well, and as it ran out before it went off, I've been buying four pints of milk, since.

So, how comes, a few weeks ago, I was buying two pints of milk, twice a week, and now I'm buying four pints, twice a week? We're not doing anything different. Where's it going?!

Morning Fluffers.

Picture this. It's Sunday morning. I wake up to a cup of tea from Very Understanding Hubby and the cat, (more about him another time) smiling at me. I get up and have a leisurely breakfast with The Family Unit which doesn't involve twenty minute negotiations just to get The Toddler Tornado to approach the table. Very Understanding Hubby makes his weekly visit to my Blog to read what I've written about him. Very Understanding Hubby shouts various things at me along the lines of 'slander, soooooo untrue, I demand a recount'...

Morning Muffins!

I made this card a little earlier this week and when I'd finished, I felt a little disappointed with it. It's one of those cards that seem to get lost in translation somewhere between my Fluffie Brain and Planet Earth. It's a grower though. I've got happier each time I've looked at it, as the week has progressed.

I'm buried under Wedding Invites at the moment and have been busy in The Bat Cave most nights all week. I've still got a pesky cough too, so, as I can't go for more than a few minutes without erupting into a violent spluttering frenzy, I've been popping medicated cough sweets like jelly beans. Of course, I didn't take into consideration the bit on the label that says 'will not make you drowsy' and 'do not take more than four in a twenty four hour period'. So, two and a half hours after going to bed, I'm generally still buzzing. This makes for a fairly ratty Fluffie the next day...

Whilst out and about in the car with Sweet Cheeks the other day we got dangerously cut up by another car. Well, it's fair to say, I let the other car know we were there. Sweet Cheeks piped up and said 'You should always ask cars to move out of the way nicely Mummy'!

Hello Again!

Morning Muffins!

I think it's fair to say I'm not firing on all cylinders at the moment. I have a House Buyers Related Nervous Tic, a stoopid cough I've not really shifted since last November and it's well over a week now since I conducted the Toe/ Door Frame Experiment and as I'm still hobbling, I think it's fair to conclude that the problem is not muscular. Ok, Ok, I can hear you! But let me explain to you exactly why I am not going to the Doctor.

Aside from the fact that I'll probably just get a tubigrip, and a pat on the back, trying to get an appointment at our surgery is more than a little faffy. It goes a little something like this. Reception opens at 8am...

08:00 Commence phone calls at two minute intervals, getting cut off each time, after approximately 6 rings

08:17 Re-commence phone calls every two minutes, getting cut off after approximately 6 rings, after getting cut off from First Contact with Reception (insert several rude words here)

08: 53 Short recess for ranting purposes

09:02 Make Second Contact with Reception, drop phone with shock

09:03 Conversation with Receptionist proceeds along these lines...

Me; I'd like to make an appointment with my Doctor please
Receptionist; Certainly, we have 29 March free
Me; Ok, would it be possible to see an alternative Doctor any sooner, maybe today
Receptionist; We're running Triage today
Me; Great, what does that mean
(note; they don't run triage every day, they literally make it up as they go along, so you don't know what the hell is going on, ever)
Receptionist; I'll put your name on the list and then a Doctor will call you to discuss your symptoms and decide if you need to come in for an appointment
Me; Right. What time will the Doctor call
Receptionist; Today

09:10 - 14:37 Lurk around phone waiting for it to ring

14:38 Phone rings. Sweet Cheeks answers saying Mummy can't talk right now, she's on the toilet

14:39 Speak to Doctor who eventually/ reluctantly offers an appointment at 17:40

18:15 Finally approach Medical Practitioner

And that, my friends, is why I'm still limping! ;)

Morning Peeps! Brace yourselves, I am on one...

Yesterday morning I woke up to the realisation that it was;

a) Friday
b) the thirteenth.

As I have a remarkable knack for;

a) finding
b) getting into

trouble, I decided it was best to keep within a five mile radius of the house, and with Sweet Cheeks safely stashed at Nursery, I took myself off to The Bat Cave for the safety of;

a) myself
b) the unsuspecting general public.

However, I forgot to account for the fact that trouble can also find me. Which it did, in the form of an Estate Agent. That's all I'm saying at this point. Other than; by the time/ if, our house actually sells, I'm going to have a tic like Chief Inspector Dreyfus in The Pink Panther. (Peter Sellers, not Steve Martin.) But that's enough of that. Let's talk about something else. I know...

Toast. Let's talk about toast...

I'm happy to admit I'm a bit weird and slightly quirky, and because I'm odd, it makes me a bit funny with toast. And bread in general. You see, I really like the neat, square part of the slice of bread. You know, the part that would've been in the tin when it baked. The top, rounded part, disturbs me, because, it's, well, round! Now, when you eat your tea, do you eat the bits you don't like first? You know, like carrots? (Eeeeuuuuew!) Then the thing you enjoy? And lastly, the thing you love? Like roasties? Yes? Me too! So, it's only natural for me to eat the round part of the toast first, saving my favourite square bits, till last.

On Friday the thirteenth, when I was eating my toast, Very Understanding Hubby asked if he could have a piece. Can you imagine my face when he took a square bit? I mean, he knows what I'm like. What was he thinking?!

I'm telling you, I need to be kept indoors!

More singing I'm afraid, this time the Kylie variety. Oh. No, she spins around...

Anyhoo, if you're looking for my Cupcake post, it's downstairs.

Over at Pollycraft Monday, Jane has challenged us to make Anything but a Card. Oh, how my tummy dropped! I'm rubbish at this type of thing. But, after much head scratching and trying to decide what to do, I thought I'd have a go at a door hanger.

I finished this project a few days ago and as is often the way with me, the door hanger in my hand, didn't look as good as the door hanger in my head! Everytime I looked at it, I just felt a little disappointed.

Yesterday afternoon, Sweet Cheeks and I were making sand castles in the garden when I had a light bulb moment. And I wasn't even at the Jelly Beans! I left The Cheeks to it while I rushed indoors to add a few bits and take a photo before the light went for the day. Sorted. :)

Morning Fluffers!

If you're an Abba fan, you'll be singing that all day now. And yes, I am old enough to know about Abba! ;) (Tell anyone and I'll throw a cake at you.) If you're not an Abba fan, you'll just be thinking I've given yet another post a crazeeeeee title! Both true I'm afraid Folks. And on that bombshell, I think I will tell you about the first Challenge of the year over at Cupcake!

Recycle, Reuse and eat more cereal

Morning Peeps!

I know, you don't normally see me on a Sunday morning. But I have several cards to share between yesterday and tomorrow and I wanted to try and space them out a little.

This one is for the new, Recycle Challenge over at Squiggle Stamps. I wish I could be a little more creative when it comes to recycling stuff, but that trail of thought doesn't come naturally to a shopaholic. Gravy containers, ribbons, and empty cardboard food packaging are about my limit. The kraft looking card on this, erm, card, is the inside of a cereal packet.

I wanted to create a fairly neutral background for Monster Boy. He has to be my absolute favourite Squiggle Image and I use him often. (Oooooooh, that's recycling!)

The current Challenge at Make it Colourful is to re-colour an image you have used before. I didn't know I was going to enter MIC when I coloured Monster Boy the other day, so I didn't check back to July when I last played with him. But look, he's virtually identical colour wise! It was a useful exercise though, it's nice to see the changes in my colouring. Thank you MIC!

Well, firstly, thanks for all your lovely comments about Sweet Cheek's art! And yes, I probably should give him his own watermark...

Thanks also for the kind comments about my toe. I'm not sure what's going on there, other than it still hurts and it's not a good idea to run on it. No. Don't be silly, I'm not talking jogging. Derrrr! Just sprinting across a road. Actually, it probably was a good idea to sprint across the road, there was a bus coming. But don't tell Mrs A. Or The Doc. I'll get grounded.

Crunch!

Hey, hey, hey Flufferoonies!

Happy 2012. I hope it brings health and happiness to you and those you love.

The other day, Sweet Cheeks wanted to do some painting. He's quite into painting and sticking at the moment, which I think is fab. But it does require a certain amount of protective equipment! Anyway, on this occasion, I managed to persuade him to colour with crayons and then do some sticking, which requires a smaller Damage Limitation Zone. The lure of being allowed to be within a five mile radius of my glue gun, while it was on, was strong! These plate faces are what he made. There was more sticking in addition to this, but I'll save that for another day.

On a separate matter, can anyone tell me who's idea it was to create the evil that is a door frame? I mean, why in the name does it need to be there? Who put them there when I wasn't looking?

Yesterday afternoon, whilst happily faffing around barefoot in my bedroom, I happened to brush past a door frame. My little toe decided to go around the opposite side to the rest of my foot. The noise, was not dissimilar to the one you get when you take that first bite into a particularly juicy and crunchy apple. The foot in question is already suffering damage incured by the phenomenon known as Sugar Rush Sweet Cheeks Toddler Tornado. Today, I am hobbling around like a women three times my age. For medical purposes, I will have to spend the day in The Bat Cave. Oh well...

Well Good Morning!

I cannot believe that 2011 is drawing to a close! How did that happen? It only feels like a few weeks ago that I was packing up for our move at the beginning of the year! Gosh. What a lot has happened since then.

Something Shiny!

Evening All.

I hope you've had a wonderful Christmas, if you celebrate it.

I usually find the time between Christmas and New Year a little odd, a bit like waiting for the next course of a meal to come from the kitchen. It's not been so bad this year. Perhaps because Very Understanding Hubby has returned to work... our daily routine is back to normal already.

Every year, Very Understanding Hubby asks me what I would like for Christmas. With the exception of last year, when I asked for, (and got) Prisma Pencils, I invariably say 'Something Shiny', which must be annoyingly vague, but is typically Fluffie.

My face must have been an absolute picture on Christmas morning, when, alongside the carnage of a choklit fuelled, hyper excited, toddler/ present frenzy, I unwrapped a shoe box, which appeared to be filled with various items of Very Understanding Hubby's clothing. Luckily, clean. Which is more than can be said for the language going through my pretty little head! After discarding several items over my shoulder, and being knocked sideways by a Sweet Cheeks Tornado, I found a small box, containing my Something Shiny! After three... Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh! :)

Ok, I admit it, I can't deny it anymore... it's here (which is more than can be said for my parents Christmas card which has gone AWOL)!

Happy Christmas!

I hope you have a wonderful Christmas and New Year and Santa brings you lots of crafty stash. And while I'm feeling happy and sentimental, I'd just like to thank you all for the wonderful, kind, supportive, lovely, comments you take the time to leave, it really means a great deal to me.

Sweet Cheeks and I ventured into the supermarket the other day. It's dangerous taking a toddler into a supermarket at this time of year I know, but I like to live life on the edge, as you know. The shopping trip was quite un-eventful. I managed to offload most of the things The Cheeks loaded into the trolley when he thought I wasn't looking, when he wasn't looking. (The blinding light from a box of mini doughnuts was most helpful with this.) We even made it through Check Out with no trouble. We didn't use Self Serve, because Sweet Cheeks likes to sit on the scale end, and it makes the till lock up and things can get... well, you know!

We loaded the car.
We got in the car.
We approached the car park exit. No promblemo.
We got in the Leave the Car Park Lane.
We got The Horn from a Lady Wot Lunches, who was in the Get Some Petrol Lane, but really wanted to be in the Leave the Car Park Lane. Really?! My fault?!

The things that came out of my mouth next, took, even me, a little by surprise! Sweet Cheeks looked at me a little shocked and very wide eyed. Doughnut anyone?!

Morning Fluffers!

For the past week or so, I've been feeling a little chilly at night. Now, if you know I'm a fair weather girl and I'm more Maldives than Mongolia, you'll also know I take adequate precautions at nightime to ensure and maintain a regular temperature of twenty eight degrees.

With the recent drop in temperature, my pj, socks, under-blanket, duvet, doubled over cot size duvet and doubled over fleece combo has just not been cutting it. Further investigations revealed the shocking truth...

I only had 10.5 tog on! 10.5 tog! Sweet Lord, that's like, cool for the summer! No wonder I've been waking up with my teeth clenched!

Now, I would happily stuff two duvets into the same duvet cover and sleep under the luxury of 21 togs, but Very Understanding Hubby doesn't like the weight on him. It makes him feel claustrophobic. (Insert 'boo, hiss' here!)

So, Saturday morning saw Sweet Cheeks and I waiting for the doors to be opened at Argos. Christmas Shoppers didn't stand a chance with me on a Duvet Mission, and to be honest, I think they were a little scared.

Last night, saw me basking in the fluffy, warmth of a new duvet and it was luuuurverly. Who decides what the maximum tog is anyway? I mean, why stop at 15...?!

Why didn't anyone tell me it's Christmas next week?! HELLO! Yep, denial has left the building and Christmas Fever has kicked in. The house is full of naughty stuff and the diet is on vacation. Whoop, whoop! I've even got the Christmas CDs out. :)

Where did that weekend disappear to?!

I got my glimmer mists out and had a lovely time merrily spritzing my background and the flower. It doesn't show up so well in the picture, but it has a lovely subtle shimmer up close and personal.

Krista at Saturated Canary, very kindly offered each of The Cupcakes an image. This is Hand Me Down, a Ragamuffin and as soon as I saw her, she made me think of my Mum. Mum used to make all our clothes when I was little and these days makes the most amazing, beautiful things out of 'stuff'. To keep in with the hand-me-down theme, I used scraps of paper to make a patchwork background and flower.

Gosh, all this using up stuff means there's a space on my desk. Hmmmm, what can I put there...?! ;)

Morning Custard Lovers.

Fancy a Cupcake? Mmmm, me too! (When do I ever refuse cake?!) This week over at Cupcake, our lovely Donna has chosen Let's get Krafty. This gave me a good excuse to get my pencils out. I've been playing with my Marers quite a lot recently, but I do love the texture pencils give on Kraft.

Be gentle with me though, because this sketch very nearly had me beat. With less than a month to go until Christmas, I am now in complete denial and decided to ignore all the Christmassy stash on my desk and make something pink and girly instead.

Monday morning again and it's time for another CombiCard!

Feather, flourish, or rattle throwing?

Morning Muffins!

Well, I've been quiet for a few weeks, so I thought it was about time I had a rant. Nope, not my Bah Humbug feelings about Christmas this time. This week, I've had a major hissy fit about my Internet Connection. Pants, doesn't even begin to describe how bad it's been. On Thursday evening, I nearly took my beloved little laptop and threw it into Sweet Cheek's sand pit from an upstairs window. Not good. Of course, Very Understanding Hubby is full of the Usual Helpful Manly Advice. Apparently, I have this problem because I spank the Internet too much and our 'bandwidth' (yep, I know what that means!) can't cope with my usage, or the fact that I am trying to open about fifty six different websites at the same time. Really?! Is that unreasonable?! ;) Give me the e-mail address of the person I need to express myself to... Oh. Sorry. Connection just dropped out...

Now, you may be wondering why I am posting two versions of the same card. I love white on white cards. Mine never seem to turn out so well as all the beautiful creations I see around Blogland, but Hey-Ho, I have Internet Connections to moan about. Anyway. I made the card with the flourish and was quit happy with the result. I turned away from my desk. And behold. A light bulb flicked on in my Fluffie brain and it said; (yes, light bulbs do speak.) Oooooooooooooh, a feather would look really pretty where that flourish is. A feather would look better than a flourish.

Of course, once the pesky light bulb had uttered these words, they couldn't be ignored. So, rather than peel the flourish off, just in case I didn't like the feather, I put it over the top to see how it looked. Which is why you can see the flourish peeping through. I'm still undecided which I like best, although the snowy, wintry feel and depth of the feather is winning me over. (I'm sticking my fingers up at the annoying light bulb. I bet it's one of those healthy, environmentally friendly ones too! Pah!)

Morning Fluffers.

Well, it's all about Challenges this morning, and there's a clue in the post title! I hope you all had a fab weekend? Sweet Cheeks and I had a quite one due to the tummy bug I picked up somewhere. I think I'll have a good weigh in at Weightwatchers this week... silver lining and all that. :)

Did I blink?

Have you ever had one of those weeks, where, one minute you're feeling a bit grumpy because it's Monday morning, and then, in a blink of an eye, you look around, a bit dazed, realise it's Friday and think 'what just happened'?

This is exactly what I'm feeling as I find myself telling you it's time for a great new Sketch over at Sketch Saturday. We have a generous prize from Simon Says Stamp if you fancy joining the fun. I hope you have time to pop over and see the gorgeous creations from the rest of The Saturdays.

I think this is a fab Sketch and I was really looking forward to playing with it, but I really struggled to pull it together. The string of phone calls I had from Estate Agents didn't really help Mojo perform to her best, and every time I look at this card, I feel a bit deflated about it.

But. I am happy with how fluffy my Pickle Penguins look. I normally colour them in much darker colours, but I wanted to have a go at a cutsey grey pair. Et voila!

Hello Again! If you're after my Cupcake post, it's underneath this one...

Well, as the post title suggests, it's a special day today at Rainbow Studios. It's lovely Angela's birthday. I've been to Rainbow Studios, and I know it will be packed with yummy cakes, biscuits and choklit. (Hungry now!) Happy Birthday Angela!

Angela's birthday gave me the perfect excuse (like we need them!) to play with my Rainbow Stamps. I've used Introducing Alfie from the Fairy Folk Range to make her card. Isn't he a cutie?

I've also used this week's Sketch from Sketch Saturday, which is in fact, from The House of Fluff! It just seemed to work really well with the papers I wanted to use.

Morning Muffins!

By now, you will know my feelings about Christmas not being Christmas until 24 December. At which point it's panic stations. So you'll not be surprised to find out I don't really like Christmas Paper Pads! I end up with a half used pad and when I look at it next year, I'll huff, and say something along the lines of 'That's sooooooooooo last season darrrrrrrrrling!'

So the other week, when I was looking for some Christmas paper, huffed and said 'That's sooooooooooooooo last season darrrrrrling', I contravened my self imposed Baggage Control Embargo and smuggled some Christmas Papers into The Bat Cave. These papers are the result of my Illegal Stash. They're fab, because they're not Christmassy and I can use them all year, so I luuuuuuuuurve them! (And yes, as I was blowing Very Understanding Hubby Customs out of the water, I did sneak some other items through too!)

Ahoy There Mateys! :)

You would not BELIEVE the trouble I had getting a picture of this card. I hate it when something doesn't work properly, so when our camera decided to die half way through a photo shoot, I well and truly threw my rattle out of my pram! So, I apologise for the slightly naff and quite bright photo.

The new Challenge over at Squiggles and Giggles is Go Dotty, so, with my love of spots, you can imagine how happy I was about that. I've used Lilliputs Pirate Boy, because he's one of my favs!

Morning Muffins!

Time for a fabby new Challenge over at Cupcake, and this week, Shelly has chosen an absolute corker; Take a leaf out of my book. Basically, we would like leaves to be the main focus of the project.

This is not the card I had planned! I had a lovely image waiting on my desk, but when I actually sat down to make a start, I just didn't feel like colouring. So, I dug out some 'vintage' Hero Arts Stamps and set to work. A liberal dose of sprays and Voila. And yep, I did get it everywhere!

Things have been a little quiet in Cassa Fluffie the last few days. Sweet Cheeks very kindly gave me a throat bug last week. There were times on Friday I was literally speechless. On Saturday I either sounded like I smoke 150 cigarettes a day or Daffy Duck on Helium. On Sunday, I did a lot of talking, and (prepare for a paradox) at this point, I don't know what I will sound like!! However, by the time you read this, I think my tonsils may well be on strike again!

Morning Fluffers!

It's a bit like you with a flower. That's what Sweet Cheeks said when I showed him this card for the official seal of approval. I'd like to think my cheeks aren't that well rounded, but hey-ho, maybe I need to cut down on the Jelly Beans! ;)

So, Monday morning can mean only one thing. No, not a bad mood because it's Monday morning. It's time for a Cupcake. This week, Sari has chosen an absolute corker, Denim and Lace. (Leg Warmers optional.) And I have to tell you, this had me a bit perplexed. The lace was easy. But the Denim... Hmmmm. I have a pair of jeans that are just ripe for cutting up, but I couldn't bring myself to do it. (I have a sentimental attachment to them.) I should have got Mrs A up, she loves cutting up old clothes, and she hates jeans.

Anyway, after much head scratching, and deciding leaving the country was not viable, this is what I came up with. I have no idea where the paper came from, but the blue reminds me of a pair of stonewash jeans.

Morning Muffins!

I'm a bit of a Bah Humbug when it comes to Christmas. I don't like that it starts in July. And because of that and because I'm far too stubborn for my own good, I pointedly ignore anything Christmassy until 12 December.

Every year, no matter how hard I try, I just cannot bring myself to make Christmas cards until it's much too late for me to make even a third of the cards I need. But something weird has happened to me. I think I've been abducted by Aliens. This year, I've made at least three cards already, I've enjoyed making them AND it's only October. Quick, bring me a sherry!

Anyway, I thought I'd share a little card I've made, using Snowflake Daisy from Squiggle Stamps. I love all the Daisy Images, she's such fun to colour. And I love snowflakes. (This one was sent to me earlier in the year and it's been sitting on my desk, waiting to be used.) Just not when they're piled up on my car and I'm fifteen minutes late already! The cute papers came free with a magazine. Cool huh? And the Seam Binding is from Sew Sweet. Emma stocks so many different colours, she's sure to have the one you need!

My Little Cupcake

Morning Fluffers.

It's turned a bit chilly here the past few days. You know I'm a fair kinda weather girl, so I'm well and truly into at least two layers from my winter wardrobe now. The sunshine is lovely, but the wind is biting. This kind of weather always makes me reach for a cup of tea and a wedge of cake. And I use the term wedge, loosely! ;)

All this cake munching got me inspired and I scurried off to The Bat Cave to make this simple card, using My Little Cupcake from Rainbow Studios. Still loving the doodles! Don't forget Rainbow Studios are currently offering 20% off their Christmas Stamps.

Gotta love Pickle

Morning Custard Lovers.

You may have noticed, I've a soft spot for this little Penguin. First up, I love penguins. All varieties. You know the waddly kind and the ones you get in the choklit aisle in the Supermarket!

But there's another reason that this little guy has melted my heart, aside from being incredibly cute looking. His name is Pickle, which is what we call Sweet Cheeks sometimes, particularly when we're having a lovely squidgey baby cuddle. Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. You gotta love Pickle. :) You can get yours from My Mum's Craft Shop, but I'm not sharing cuddles. They're all mine.

I'm loving pastel Christmas cards this year, be prepared to see more! Seam Binding and Velvet Ric Rac from Sew Sweet were jumping up and down on my desk, begging to be used when I was making this card and it would be rude to ignore them, don't you think!

Hey Peeps, this is my second post today, if you wanna Cupcake, it's downstairs!

This is the card that Sweet Cheeks gave to Very Understanding Hubby for his birthday. I've used Cuthbert and Kiki - Cuthbert Car. Sweet Cheeks loves anything car related and he luuuurves Daddy's car, which is blue. When we go into town, we go past the Aston Martin Garage, and Very Understanding Hubby often mutters something about DB9's. (I mutter something about a mid life crisis.) So, now, along with Pretty Ladies, Sweet Cheeks can spot a DB9 a mile off!

Morning Muffins!

I know you'll be surprised to see a little treat box from me! Anything more than a tent fold card generally brings me out in a cold sweat, but I really fancied making some little Mini Milk Cartons! Aren't they cute?

In FayeWorld, I plan to make more of these for Sweet Cheeks to take to Nursery for his little friends on Halloween. However, the reality of not flippin' my stack when I'm trying to assemble another twelve of them, (even though it's very easy!) may well bring me back to Earth with a bump! Plus, I'll probably scoff all the jellybeans! ;)

Morning Muffins!

What happens on a Boys Day Out, stays on a Boys Day Out. Well, that's what Very Understanding Hubby thought!

For a bit of a treat, we put Sweet Cheeks' car booster seat in the front of Daddy's car (instead of in the back of Mummy's taxi) this week. Sweet Cheeks has been loving it and chatters away the whole time about all the things he can see.

The other morning, the day after a Boy's Only Adventure Afternoon, we were delivering Very Understanding Hubby to work, when Sweet Cheeks spots a girl and pipes up 'Ooooooooooooooooooooooooooooh, pretty lady... Daddy says that.'

This is my very own pretty lady! I love the images from Saturated Canary. (There is a possibility that there are some more located somewhere not too far from here!) I normally avoid them, as colouring them scares me, but I thought I'd bite the bullet and have a go. I've even had a little play with 'grounding' her. (Which is Very Understanding Hubby's current status!) It took me absolutely ages! But, I think I'm quite pleased...

Morning Muffins. Yep, it's another Top Quality Tip from The House of Fluff!

Very Understanding Hubby and I took Sweet Cheeks to the park the other day for some family time in the last of the sunshine. Sweet Cheeks was very happy as he was wearing jersey shorts, as opposed to jeans, which meant he got some speed up on the slide. We'd been out for a while, when Sweet Cheeks announced he needed the toilet. Very Understanding Hubby duly took him behind a tree for some Man Time. Several minutes later, Sweet Cheeks appeared, looking pleased with himself. Mission Accomplished. A moment later, Very Understanding Hubby also appeared, moping his brow with what might be described as a pretty damp hanky. So Peeps, remember...don't pee in the wind! ;)

This little cutie is Daisy with Flowers from Squiggle Stamps. I fancied doing something clean and simple so she has space to be, erm, cute. And because I've coloured her in red, every time I look at it now, I think of Little Red Riding Hood!

Morning Custard Lovers!

Look at the scrumptious Sketch Lou has given us to play with over at Pollycraft Monday Challenge this week! Don't you just wanna play with it? And if you do, you could be in with a chance to win a whoppin' TEN Digi's from Pollycraft Designs. Waaaahoooooo!

I've flipped this little baby onto it's side and used Dexter the Penguin - Gifts, which, is completely Plan B! Let me tell you all about Plan A.

Plan A, involved my card for this weeks Challenge over at Cupcake, which has been chosen by our Competition Winner, Sandra and is Black and White Christmas. (We're joined by some scrummy sponsors this week; Simon Says Stamp, Polka Doodles and Scrap Affair.)

Plan A, involved an absolutely and totally illegal package. Not only did it get past Very Understanding Hubby and his Sneaky Telltale Accomplice and Side Kick, Sweet Cheeks, at Baggage Control HQ, but it also arrived in plenty of time to allow me to create a faberoony, heat embossed (actually, where is my heat gun?) Christmas Card. I snuckered happily into The Bat Cave to stroke my stash. Insert HYPERVENTILATING here, as said Christmas Stamp was not in package, due to being out of stock. OMG. I had some kind of virus for most of last week, and later that night, in a fever induced moment of Halucinative Clarity, I had the brilliant idea of making this card instead. Sorted.

Which brings me nicely onto Backing Up. Or lack thereof. I have a little pink laptop, which, I lovingly refer to as The Cupcake. It's not often that The Cupcake and I are separated, only really when I'm shopping, and that's mainly so my hands are free to grab a bargain! It's pretty fair to say that I spank the hell out of The Cupcake, and although she's only one, she acts a lot older.

Yesterday afternoon, when I was writing up the Cupcake post for Cupcake, mid post, The Cupcake died. The screen went black, there were some flashing lights and because Sweet Cheeks was out of earshot, I was able to fully express my disgust. Several moments later, after shaking The Cupcake and hitting it against the desk a few times, I defribrulated it with an Electrical Energy Source (AKA plugged it in). Whilst I waited (prayed) for the medication to kick in, I was allowed time to fully panic about what I was going to do if The Cupcake was, in fact, knackered, because I had no back up of any of the work I was in the middle of uploading. Very Understanding Hubby was typically manly in his advice. Check your AVG was his first helpful comment. Check the AVG. I know what AVG is, but where do I check it? After looking at the bar code underneath, I said something along those lines, so he came over, peered at the screen and told me AVG was fine. Good. Take The Cupcake for a service, was the next pearl of wisdom. Right. Service. Good plan. How long does that take? A couple of days. Oh, I think I feel dizzy, wait is that the floor in my face...?

So, peeps, the moral of this story is, always keep a back up. Oh, and don't ask Very Understanding Hubby about stuff...

Carpet Cleaning Foam

I'm a sucker for a Sketch these days, and I couldn't resist this one from Sweet Stampin:

I enjoyed playing with this card, even though I should have been doing other things! Shame the stitching doesn't stand out a little more and I could have positioned it better, but hey-ho! You'll know by now, I'm a sucker for Pure Innocence Stamps. Give her an ice cream and you know I will just have to have her! This one is called Make Mine a Double. Too right!! :)

The other day, I noticed Sweet Cheeks walking on by with a can of carpet cleaning foam tucked under his arm. He loves 'helping' me to spray this stuff on the carpet, but I wasn't too worried as he can't really activate the can on his own. Several minutes of silence passed and I was happy he'd given up. He gets cross if he can't do something right now and it would have resulted in banging of some kind. A little later, he came downstairs again, all pleased with himself. 'I just cleaned the carpet Mummy'. 'That's great, thank you for helping Mummy. Which carpet did you clean?' 'My bedroom Mummy, I used foam and then I wiped it up with my flannel...'

Jilli, Sarah and Cupcake made me do it! Jilli because she keeps making the most gorgeous creations with them (and in fact inspired this card.) Sarah, because she's a minx and we sort of agreed to do it together. (Where are you, Chicken?) And Cupcake, because it's my Challenge this week, so I thought I'd best stop faffing, pull my finger out and get going with something!

What on earth am I talking about? (Don't worry, it's not the first time I've been asked that question, particularly this early on a Monday morning!) Teddy Bo of course! Sketch Saturday DT Call

Look what I've just snagged from Sketch Saturday!

DT Call

We are looking for 2 new design team members to join Sketch Saturday! :)
Initially on a 3 month trial, with a view to a permanent position we hope.

We can't offer you any freebies as that isn't what we are about, although occasionally a sponsor will give us free images which is wonderful and very much appreciated.
But we can offer you friendship, we have a lovely DT (even if I do say so myself!)

What is required:

You MUST have your own personal blog and be prepared to post each week.

You must be able to make a card each week, and upload it before midnight on the Friday before the challenge goes live.

You will get the sketches well in advance, so you will have plenty of time to create.

You can use any craft materials you like to make your DT work (except copyright protected images of course).

The only *rule* is that you stick as close as possible to the sketch, but of course artisitc licence plays a part and is welcomed, you don't have to be 'spot on' but the sketch design needs to be seen within your work.

You must post about our challenge on your own blog each week, leaving links to SS and to our sponsors on all posts.

You must be prepared to leave comments for challengers, currently 1 challenger in every 10, although you are of course allowed to leave comments for more should you have the time to do so.

You will be expected to take a turn hosting a DT week:
DT weeks are the first Saturday of each month, the DT member is asked to make their own sketch for the challenge, arrange a sponsor, and arrange the guest designer (GD) too. You will be expected to type up the post for this week.
DT week is only for one week, but your GD will be with us for the whole month, so would be expected to make a card for each Saturday in the month you would be DT host. You are responsible for uploading your GD's cards each week before the deadline.
You must also type up the winners post the following week after your DT week, and arrange for your winner to receive their prize from your sponsor.

Sketch Saturday is a challenge blog like any other, we have no problem with our DT members being on other challenge blog DTs too.

We expect ALL of our DT members to treat SS with the same respect as others.

If you are currently on other DTs then please do apply to join us if you want to be a part of our team too, however, if it is going to be a problem for you to make a card for us if you have deadlines from other DTs to keep to, then please do not apply if this means that SS could be pushed to one side because you need to make your card for another challenge blog instead. Fluffie is in the building!

Morning Fluffers!

I know some of you are worried about my whereabouts as I have been absent for over a week. Thanks so much for your e-mails. :)

The truth is, I've discovered I have a crush on Hugh Jackman, and have been lying in a darkened room while I wait for my pulse to resume normal services. The cause of my heightened awareness of The Jackman Presence? Australia. We watched it on TV the other night. I wanted to go and see it at the cinema. In the Pre-Cheeks Days, Very Understanding Hubby and I used to go most weekends. The last film we saw at the cinema was Quantum of Solace and there was some concern that 1. I may go into premature labour due to my crush on Mr Fluffie Mark Two; Daniel Craig and 2. I wouldn't make it past the trailers without needing the loo. Twice.

By the time Australia came out, Sweet Cheeks was making his newborn presence felt and cinema was, well, not high on our priorities. Anyway. Hugh Jackman. HELLO! I think I may make him Mr Fluffie Mark Two, because The Craig is messing around with that Rachel Woman and I'm not waiting forever. I have other fish to fry. Quick get me a bucket of water...

We took a trip down to our house in Devon (no Internet or craft stash there, did you hear me wailing?) for a few days last week and crafting ground to a halt. In fact, I've not really felt much like crafting at all since we've been back and The Big Shot is gathering dust, Copics rolling with the tumbleweed.

The Labour of Love!

Morning Custard Lovers.

So now I have you singing The Power of Love all day, let me tell you about this labour of love.

It was The Doc and Mrs A's Ruby Wedding Anniversary in August and I wanted to make something special. I'd been planning it for months and getting all the 'necessary equipment' in! ;)

It's an eight inch card and it's scary filling that much space when you're used to six, but as I was making it, every time I did something, I thought of something else that would look great!

Three days later, with the front and both insides decorated, it was ready for some Sweet Cheeks art work, before we headed down to the Post Office, with over a week to spare. I was pretty pleased as I was fairly happy with the card and I knew it would arrive both before the anniversary and before my parents went on holiday, so they could take it with them. Job done.

Ironically, when we were standing in the very long queue, I considered sending it (and my other package of commissions) registered post, but we had a week to play with and I'd not had trouble before. Ha. Famous last thoughts.

The card did not arrive before the anniversary, or before my parents went on holiday. They ended up taking a print out, of a photo, on a piece of A4 paper. Not quite the same. It did eventually turn up, about two weeks later, but by then, well, you know.

So, if you're reading this Royal Mail, that's why you are now, not, on my Christmas card list!

Morning Muffins!

Firstly, an apology. Very Understanding Hubby was very distressed to see my post about the semi naked, lightly oiled, Dishy Toyboy Man Candy, as it should have said semi naked, lightly oiled, Dishy Toyboy, Man Candy. Obviously good grammar is paramount. Of course, I might have wanted my semi naked, lightly oiled, Dishy Toyboy, Man Candy to be semi naked, lightly oiled, Dishy Toyboy Man Candy, but we'll never know now. He's gone (Very Understanding Hubby, not the semi naked, lightly oiled, Dishy Toyboy Man Candy) to a meeting at work now. (AKA playing Lightsabers with his mates.)

Anyway, semi naked, lightly oiled, Dishy Toyboy Man Candy aside, if you fancy a quick card, this has got to be it! Of course you need to allow some time to eat enough ice cream lollies, which as you know is not a problem for me, if I'm not on a diet. Boo, hiss.

I've used La La Land Crafts Marci with Flower. And for a bit of fun, I've stamped her onto some lolly sticks. I just know she would be using these in her garden to help her little seedlings stand up. If you do fancy stamping onto lolly sticks, make sure you use a good, deep coloured ink. The first time I tried it, it came out very pale, Marci got lost and I had to eat more! And it did feel a bit (semi) naked, (lightly oiled, Dishy Toyboy Man Candy) not swooshing the old Copics around.

Well, I think that's me done for today, as I don't think I can fit anymore references to semi naked, lightly oiled, Dishy Toy Boy Man Candy into one post... Have a great day.

Morning Muffins!

Late last weekend, Very Understanding Hubby and I heard a bit of a commotion outside. Further investigation revealed a stunning firework display. I'm talking thousands of pounds worth of fireworks here. Very Understanding Hubby asked me what it was for, me being the font of all knowledge and all! As I didn't really know, I said it was some parents celebrating as the school holidays were over!

Outrageous!!

Ok Peeps. Brace yourselves, I'm on a Bah Humbag Rampage.

Mince Pies.

An innocent Christmas Snack. And here lies my problem.

You know my Pastry Chef roots. So, you will understand that even the smell of them makes me nauseous and the fact that if I had £1 for each of the rancid little blighters I had made throughout my 'illustrious' career, I would, in fact, now be at a health club somewhere very hot, being massaged by some (semi naked, lightly oiled) Dishy Toyboy Man Candy.

Alas, it is not the case and it was only two years ago, some 'AHEM' years after I hung up my Chef Hat for good, I allowed said offending items into the same Half a Mile Exclusion Zone as me. (AKA in the house.) In fact, I have progressed so far, that last year, on CHRISTMAS EVE, I partook in a lightly warmed un-mentionable, but only after some pretty serious mulled wine consumption. (AKA a bit squiffy.)

On Thursday, Sweet Cheeks and I stopped at the local supermarket for some essential mid week items (AKA Choklit, biscuits, ice cream). We stopped in the cake aisle so we could lick all the packaging, when suddenly, I felt hot, light headed and there were stars and black dots in front of my eyes. (Something similar happened when the + appeared on my pregnancy test, but I was at home alone, so it didn't matter if I swore or passed out.)

And why was I hyperventilating? Yep, you got it. Mince Pies. Packed tight, floor to ceiling rafters and beyond, like they were expecting a rush on. Eeeurgh! It's SEPTEMBER. I'd tell you which shop it is, but I have a feeling you might be the rush on...! ;)

Anyway, remember it was Very Understanding Hubby's birthday last week? This is one of the cards I made for him. He loves DIY. Or rather, he loves ignoring the destructions and then getting cross because the table he's making looks like a park bench...

Morning Muffins.

Very Understanding Hubby has a new phone. It took a while to persuade him to ditch the old, knackered one. It's one of these all singing, all dancing things with a touch screen, (want it!) that you can download on to.

Very Understanding Hubby, being a bloke, is typically afflicted with The Star Wars Disorder, (don't get me started on films which don't run in chronological order...!) so he was very excited when I downloaded a Lightsaber App for him. I promptly lost interest and forgot about it, disappearing into The Bat Cave.

Not long after, there was a Lightsaberish noise behind me, along with various Star Wars themed quotes. I grabbed the nearest thing to hand and brandished my N9 SketchMarkerSword, so battle against The Dark Side could commence. It was a a giggle! Sweet Cheeks was a bit bemused by it all though!

Morning Muffins!

When I saw the name of this sweet WOJ stamp, Together Forever, I was whisked back to a world of leg warmers, spiral perms and Rick Astley! Gets in your 'ed, doesn't it?! Do I know all the words? Was I going to marry him? I'd tell you, but I'd have to poke you in the eye with my hotbrush! And let's not muddy the waters by bringing Morten Harket into things..)

I'm running a little behind with things at the moment. Sweet Cheeks had a bit of a down turn last week, although he seems to have improved again for the time being. Very Understanding Hubby's birthday also snukkered up on me. It's been ages away for about a month and then suddenly, last week, it was tomorrow! On the same day as that, in true blokey fashion, Very Understanding Hubby asked for an anniversary card for his parents. For, yes, you guessed it, the next day! Could I find a Happy Anniversary stamp? Pah! Sweet Cheeks must have it stashed in the same place as my hot pink cotton!

I totally missed the boat with Cupcake this week, which is a shame, as Liza has chosen the absolutely cracking theme of Patchwork. Pop over to Cupcake for all the details and to see the wonderful creations from The Cupcakes.

Hoppy Halloween

Yup, it's my second post today. If you're looking for my Sketch Saturday card, well it's downstairs!

I have to admit that Halloween isn't my bag, but when I saw the new images from Squiggles, I wanted to play. I've used Witchy Ghoul. Isn't she fun? In real life, I've given her skin a green tinge, but it's not shown up so well in the photo.

I've also used Webbed Ribbon from Sew Sweet. My stash of this fabby stuff is Teal, so I asked Very Understanding Hubby (he'll be so pleased to get a mention, it's like a little reward sticker for him! Can you tell I have a toddler in the house?!) to spray it black for me. You can get yours in black, or in six other scrummy colours!

Morning Custard Lovers!

I have one of my faberoony Top Tips for you today Peeps, brace yourselves, it's a good one!

When you're following a Sketch, and you're a Fluffhead, don't do it from memory, you'll miss something off...

Let me tell you about this image. I've been itching to ink Marci for ages and I wanted to try out something new. I stamped her fourteen, yes fourteen, times, before finally deciding she was not the right image for the technique I wanted to try. Fifteenth time lucky! And. Two of my flesh Copics have given up and gone to Copic Heaven, not good when you are almost throwing the rattle out of the pram...! ;)

Winter's coming...

It's me, for the second time today!

I always feel like summer is coming to an end when we hit August Bank Holiday. (Although this year I'm wondering if it started yet!) But I've been feeling it a bit more this weekend. X Factor has started and it feels like the countdown to the 'C' Word has begun. Bah! Humbug! (My local Tesco's has a tree, albeit un-decorated, but it's a tree, nonetheless, outside.) And on Friday, I got one of my chills. I get this a lot in the winter, I get cold and it doesn't matter what I do, I just can't get warm again. Jumpers, hot shower, tea, food, bed, nothing works. Yep, winter is coming.

So with the imminent arrival of winter, I wanted to make something bright and summery for my Pollycraft/ Sketch n Stash Card. I've used Swings and Slides - Swinging Friends from Pollycraft. Isn't she cute?! I've been admiring Amanda's cards for months now. She has an eye for colours and putting different patterns together. And you know, I think I might try this again!

This week, at Pollycraft, Jane would like us to Use Felt. I've been wanting to have a go at felt flowers for about as long as I've been meaning to decorate my Pencil Pot, (it's in the post downstairs!) as I had some rather scrummy felt from Sew Sweet sitting on my desk, just waiting to be used.

I think I should've made these leaves a bit smaller, Very Understanding Hubby says not, but I keep looking at them. Anyway, hop over to Pollycraft for all the details about the prize provided by The Crimson Cloud and to see the inspiration from the rest of The Girls.

I've actually been (hoarding) using this container for my pencils for months, with the intention of doing something with it. It's one of those projects that I think about all the time, rather than doing. But Denise's fabby new Challenge at Cupcake has given me the boot up the bum I needed! (Thanks Hun!) She would like to see you Alter It! Well you can imagine what happened to my stomach when I read that!

But several coats of acrylic paint later, some sanding, sticking and scrunching and I'm happy. In fact, I might even do the other container too... And I told you you'd be seeing more of this fabby Cotton Velvet Lace from Sew Sweet, didn't I?
